Reflections from a Fractured Garden welcomes back Serenity W. and the poem: Fare Thee Well.
.
Fare Thee Well
Bright hope for the future
Just appearing over the horizon.
Dashed, without any hope of cure,
Resulted in a resounding yet silent din.
.
Left me standing here lonesome and alone,
Without any clue why this came to pass.
Oh! why the pain with these groans?
This pain hurts and holds me fast.
.
Why no answers? Why the coldness?
Is there no grace for a second chance?
Days filled only with despair and sadness—
Maybe I asked too much of a friend.
.
Saw it disappearing as a sunset with dimming lights
Soon, dark shadows began to form
And with them came the dark night,
Then silence came, and I could bear this no more.
.
Our path separated at the crossroad without a sigh
And never did we look back since that day.
You chose your path; I chose mine
“Fare thee well” is all I have to say.
