Hey, young writers and readers!
Jack, Ken, and Abby here with this month’s highlight. We’ll be discussing all the events, updates, goals, and details you’ll need to know as we dive into July of 2024. Let’s get started!
Subscribers Update!
As of today, we have reached a total of 76 subscribers and over 160 followers! We didn’t exactly reach our goal of 100 subs, but we’ll try again this month and see if we can make it. Our hope is to make The YA Section a firm community of young writers and readers. To help us out, consider sharing the link to this blog with your friends, relatives, and anyone you think will enjoy what we have to offer!
Post Changes
If you haven’t heard, we have decided to remove our Debate of the Week posts and replace them with threads. Now, unlike our debates, these threads will be simple group discussions for young writers and readers. Occasionally, we may include a little debate topic to go with the discussion thread, but debate won’t be a central theme in these conversations. Discover our reasoning for this change in this post:

Other than our debates, we don’t really have any more post changes. Most of this month’s posts will consist of book reviews, Tips & Tools articles, threads, devotionals, and such.
Events
Since we did not host a short story contest in June, we may be hosting one this month. We have one planned out right now, however, we don’t know if anyone will have time to enter the contest since it is summer and lots of people will be busy with vacations, family time, and just having fun. So, we’ve decided to take a poll to determine whether we should host our July story contest or not.
Now, this poll is just asking if you have time to write a short story so saying you have time does not mean you’re committing to entering the short story. But if you have time and want to showcase your writing on the blog, this will be a great opportunity.
Schedule
For the month of July, we have posts planned out for every Monday. However, Wednesday posts are not guaranteed as the three of us will be pretty busy this month. As for Friday posts, we don’t plan on posting at all on days besides Monday and Wednesday this July. In August, we may move to posts every Monday and Wednesday with optional Friday posts, but since this month is expected to be hectic, we’ll only prioritize one post a week.
Because we’re so busy, an important note for this month is…
Guest Posting
If you have time to write a Tips & Tools article, book review, or devotional, by all means, apply to be a guest writer this month! Just fill out the form below and we’ll try to get back to you as quickly as we can. If we don’t respond within a day or two, we’re probably really busy at the moment. In that case, simply write your post and DM
, who’ll see your post sooner and upload it onto the blog.(Currently, our blog account is facing sign-in complications, so avoid messaging that account until we can work things out.)
And that’s all we have for now! We hope y’all enjoy what we have to offer this month and will stick with us the whole way. Also, make sure to share The YA Section with more people so we can develop a larger, stronger community.
Have a nice day! :)
