G’morning, y’all!
This is
bringing you another weekly devotional! Let’s dive in!Wonderful. A word we use pretty flippantly nowadays. Someone gets an A on a test. Wonderful! Someone is planning on going to college. Wonderful! Someone applies for his first job. Wonderful!
But are these things truly wonderful? Do they truly fill us with wonder? Not really. We just use the word as a synonym for great.
But there are things that can fill us with wonder! A magnificent view. A newborn baby. The grace of God. Beautiful, wonderful things. Things which come from God. For the works of God are wondrous. For:
“The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows His handiwork.”
And…
“I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are Your works; my soul knows it very well.”
And…
“Where sin increased, grace abounded all the more.”
Are not these works of God more wonderful than anything else? For our God is a God who works wonders (Psalm 77:14)!
Let’s Pray
Dear God,
I praise You for the many wonders You have worked in my life! It fills me with wonder and awe to know that You work wonders for me! Thank You!
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
