Good Morning, Readers!
This is
, once again bringing y’all the weekly devotional! Let’s dive right in!You’ve probably heard people tell you to just go with the flow. Who hasn’t? And often we just go with the flow because we don’t want to be the one who rocks the boat.
But you know what? As Christians, we do need to “rock the boat.”
Y’all have probably heard Mark 16:15 many times over, but just as a refresher, I’ll quote it again:
“And He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and proclaim the Gospel to the whole creation.’”
In this verse — which Christians have labeled “The Great Commission” — Jesus is commanding us to go and witness to the world. And you know what? The world will tell us to stop rocking the boat and just go with the flow because they don’t want to hear the Gospel. As it is so aptly put in John 3:19-20:
“People loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed.”
And that is so true. The people of this world don’t want to hear the truth about the Gospel, because they want to continue in their sin.
But Jesus commanded us to bring the Gospel to these people — to rock the boat as it were — so that they might be saved from their sins (Mark 16:16). So why should the Christian go with the flow? Christian, we have work to do that won’t allow us to go with the flow! So, let's follow Jesus’ command to spread the Gospel and go rock the boat!
Let’s Pray
Lord,
Help me to step out of my comfort zone and spread Your word to a world that wants to go with the flow. Help me to rock the boat with the truth of Your love.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
