Hi, y’all!
Starting this month, I will be posting little upcoming month highlights, meaning I’ll describe in short what you can look forward to every month. For this month, I have announcements about events, authors, posts, and more!
First off, let’s discuss…
Our Events
For this month, since it’s summer and everyone’s busy having fun and doing nothing, we’ve decided not to host any events this month. We will, however, be posting the winners of last month’s short story contest, Mysterious May (details below).
As for the book club, we may be hosting in around July or August, but not this month sadly.
Onto our…
Authors
For this month, Ken, one of our authors, will be taking a break from writing posts to focus on more important things. Since it’s just Abby and I left, we’d greatly appreciate it if you’d apply to be a one-time guest author! Details are in this post:
If you enjoy writing devotionals, have ever wanted to write a Debate of the Week, want to write a review of a book you liked, or have some helpful tips to share in an informative article, I’d love to have you as a guest writer on The YA Section! Since all of our application forms are one-time use only, you’ll only be allowed to write a guest post every two months or so. But this helps free up slots for other people who may want to write for this blog as well. So without further ado, here is the application form:
Next, we have…
Subscribers
At the moment, we have a total of 65 subscribers on this blog, which is astounding seeing as it’s only our first month up and running. Our subscribers goal for by the end of June 2024 is at least 100 subscribers. I know we can make it that far and grow The YA Section community into something greater than it already is. So, to help assist with the growth, Ken and I are working on setting up the Substack Referrals program, which is basically just a leaderboard of all the users who have shared the blog the most times. There will be three prize tiers that you all can reach the more times you share The YA Section with someone else. For now, it’s still a work in progress. So simply sharing the link with one of your friends, relatives, coworkers, or anyone you think would enjoy this blog’s content would mean the world to Ken, Abby, and me.
Can’t forget our…
Posts
What we’re hoping for this month is a Debate of the Week every Monday (starting next week obviously), anything but a debate post on Wednesday (devotional, book reviews, Tips & Tools article, etc.), and if we have anything super important to announce we’ll post something on Friday (maybe). However, regarding our debate posts, there will be a slight change. Since Ken is off-duty at the moment and most people are busy with summer fun, the Debates of the Week featured this month will be cross-posts of debates from Controversial Book Club. Cross-posts are basically just duplicates of previous posts reposted on the blog with a little note at the beginning. With debates only being published once a week and with triple the amount of subscribers as CBC, we’ll be cross-posting debates all summer. This will make it easier on us authors and reintroduce debates that formerly received little attention.
Besides our Debate of the Week posts changing, our normal Wednesday posts will remain the same. If we make any further changes with our schedule, we’ll let you all know :).
And finally…
Updates & Announcements
For June, we’ll try to get in two posts a week—one on Monday, one on Wednesday. However, with everything going on in our lives at the moment (summer plans and all) we may not be able to post as often as we hope. Guest authors will be a good help, but starting in July, a summer hiatus may be probable. In the case of a short little hiatus, we prompt you all to just have fun with your family and friends and not pay The YA Section much mind till we return (we’ll send out an email when we do :).
Other than that, we don’t really have many updates or announcements except that we’ll be doing little upcoming month highlights like this from now on to give you all a little sneak peek of what we’ll be posting and what our goals for the month are.
If you liked this post, I’d greatly appreciate it if you would give it a like so more people will be able to find this blog. Please feel free to post any questions you have in the comments or DM me. I can’t wait to start this new month, our second with The YA Section. If that’s all for now, I’ll see you in my next post!
Have a blessed day! :D
