I think the Hunger Games excels in plot structure. The pacing is quick, fitting for the story. I read all of the three originals within the span of two weeks while juggling a job and school, so I have to say they were very gripping! I had to get used to the first-person, present-tense style of narrating, but I was immersed and forgot about it quickly.

I haven't read Songbirds and Snakes yet, but honestly I liked the first and second books equally. The third was still good, but I didn't enjoy it as much.

I am team Peeta, though I wish there was a character that had Peeta's idealistic high-mindedness and kindness, and also Gale's skill with hunting and his deep understanding of Katniss. Too bad they are two separate characters ;D

I know Tolkien said it was better to stop while readers were still asking for more. It's really a matter of how long the fanbase can hold out and if Collins can keep up the good work. If she can write another banger, then by all means, let her do it! If it's terrible, then we can try to forget it ever existed.

Suzanne collins has it easy, all she has to do is write a book about Haymitch’s hunger games. And the other quarter quell would be nice. Please. That’s all I want to read

Is this a coincidence? On the air plane I just finished watching the mockingjay movie.

1. It was pretty decent. Though the mockingjay movies were very violent. The books weren’t that violent/ descriptive.

2. The first one

3. Ummm… idk. I did not like Peeta at first I liked Gale better, but then in mockingjay *spoiler alert* something happened in which I did not like Gale. Also in mockingjay before that something happened I did not like Peeta but liked Gale better. So my opinion is mixed.

4. Good question

I haven't read it and don't really plan to for 2 reasonsv

1. I just really don't care for dystopian.

2. I saw parts of the movie when my dad watched it. If the book is about the same thing as the movie — kids killing other kids — then yeah, no. Not reading it. I really don't like that YA books are filled with violence now. I don't want to read violence because I really don't think I can level it with Phillipians 4:8.

so the books aren’t exactly like the movies… but you’d have to read the books to tell the differences. and for the record, most young adult literature doesn’t have violence, just dystopian and thriller and action and such. i stated in a previous post why im fine with violence in books but of course it’s not for everyone and if you don’t like violence, i wouldn’t recommend the hunger games
